Sister Cities of Ibagué

In recent years, Ibagué has worked towards increasing its international recognition, establishing cooperation bridges with foreign countries, cities, and governments.

Our city opens its doors to the international community, in order to create cooperation networks that can strengthen our sustainable development processes, and can foster the exchange of best practices, and successful experiences.

Guanajuato, México

In 2016, the cities signed the Sister Cities agreement.

Guanajuato is the capital of the State of Guanajuato, located in the center of Mexico, and its approximate population is 194,500. The city was declared as World Heritage Site in 1988, for its cultural richness.

A University city, full of culture and home of the International Cervantino Festival, one of the most important artistic events in Mexico and Latin America.

  • Coordination with the tourism department for projects on cultural area.
  • Participation of artistic delegations from Guanajuato, Mexico in the Colombian Folk Festival.
